BBC Online couldn't go down if there was a power cut in london as they have back up servers in New York

And also the fact that the servers are not in TVC?  I could tell you all where they are, but I'm not gonna Smile

I've find these maps of the BBC Internet Services

If the BBC started to flicker wouldn't that be the moment that the generators kicked in?

P.S. PZG, where did u get those pictures from?

Can anyone confirm that this was the worst breakdown in television history, in that it took all the BBC's domestic services off the air

Very! Its a really usefull site though for all ages. They'd make a hell of a lot of money if they had advertising on it but obviously they cant have it on the BBC site but only on their commercial BEEB site.

Apparently BBC 1 & BBC2 lost half of their viewers during the blackout on Saturday night. 4.5m people were watching the BBC1 film, Red Corner, but only 2.4m waited for the film to come back on. Does anyone know if the film started at the point it went off the air, as I missed this whole event.

And to think we pay a license for this channel yet the other three (ITV1,C4&C5) don't breakdown half as much or as long as they do

But when the BBC goes off air it's always done so stylishly! I don't know of any other channel which makes breakdowns so 'enjoyable'!
