If News24 / World both went off air and couldn't cut into each other would they play the 10min News filler?

I wonder what World viewers would think of that, especially the really dancy bit 1.50 in.

I would have thought they would broadcast the last hour's news from another station elsewhere.

From what I've heard of it, it is good!

It's a shame the directors just bung on a BBC Musak CD during a shutdown - Why can't they play the ident themes? We could have a great load of BBC One and Two extended ident themes that way!! Razz:

Haha, I've been wishing that for years!! Smile

In 1991, BBC Two did show all their '2' idents in full (with VT clocks) as an engineering test one night - if only they'd do that once again!

How weird. In Asa's BBC Two clip, the voice changes nearer the end. In my area, the same woman who started at the begining of the clip carried on until 'I Love 1975' restarted. She said something like:

'Now it's back to 1975 and some bloke called Bob Marley'

It may have been the end of the first CA's shift, and she wanted to get home as quickly as possible! Or she could have passed out and a relief CA took her place. Does anyone know the shift patterns of BBC TWO CAs?

Maybe one was the Analogue announcer and the other the Digital Announcer?

That was my fault - I switched between analogue and digital for the last two announcements.

And regarding shift patterns - it's midnight for BBC One/Two announcers on weekdays and 2am (or closedown / crossover to N24 - which ever comes first) on the weekends.

BBC News 24 on NTL Cable has now got sound but the visuals are still flickering and the screen shape is totally wrong. It's kinda in widescreen although there aren't any black bars. Everything seems squashed.

Is there going to be more material being uploaded?

I would repeat my earlier request of an MP3 of the BBC1 music (not just announcements) if anyone has time to put something together before they wipe tapes..
