As I wake this morning, I see the papers are going big on the story. Most of the tabloids carrying it as 2nd lead on early pages. Not read the broadsheets yet.

S/Ex story has a random quote from some viewer in Oxfordshire. They must have been desperate for some sort of quote!

The music is awful - is that just wales??? Wink

The welsh breakdown music is really good. Music is a few tracks of classic then further up it's all dance music, instrumentals of things like Bjork I play dead etc.... - we all have our fave tracks for Breakdown hehehe

Wales may have taken control itself by now, or Birmingham is doing it for them.

Birmingham *never* takes control of the Welsh output. Cardiff runs Wales, unless we take ourselves out of the chain Smile

Quote: from BBCPrime on 11:03 am on July 1, 2001Btw, BBC Prime isn't getting rebranded, it was only done last December. The Learning Zone is apparantly going to be rebranded...is this the case on BBC Two as well?

From next week the Learning zone will be called 'BBC Learning' and will have new idents, backgrounds and music etc. and a new voice.

This will currently be for BBC Prime only.

Thanks for those! You can hear the anno press the button to show the programm except it turns up a little late and so we get a split second of the balloon 'carrying on' at a different angle. I love the music to that ident though!

That's called Leading Sound..... you get the sound first and then follow with the fader if that's how you so wish - thus you hear programme sound and then the picture follows later.......

BBC One analogue showed a black screen which was doing weird things to my TV's on screen display - Making it almost off the top of the screen.

This went on for about 40 sec before flicking into a dark-grey screen, which to me meant broadcasting had started again. 10 seconds later a 16:9 apology caption was faded in

Does anyone think BBC Two should change the background for their apology screen, it's SO boring

It is so much better having live CAs on BBC One/Two - they can actually relate to the problem, for example mentioning 'People running everywhere!' Why, though did the BBC Two announce it as a technical fault when BBC One were calling it a power failure?

I personally think there was some sort of terrorist attack, seeing as everyone on the Beeb is calling it a different thing, and not mentioning it only once on N24 http://members.aol.com/focusvid/n24.rm (That's the same as my one on Page 10). Especially seeing as Trimble has just resigned - sounds a bit fishy to me!!

It's been the same one for years - I remeber it being used in 1998 during the snooker. Presumably the BBC TWO director fell asleep mid-match (boring!) and leant on the wrong button! he he! Very Happy

BBC Online couldn't go down if there was a power cut in london as they have back up servers in New York

And also the fact that the servers are not in TVC? I could tell you all where they are, but I'm not gonna Smile

I think that the live conitinuity is eally nicer than the recorded.
I really like the new younger voices on the BBC recently, they make it feel a bit less, well, posh.
