Presumably N24 was business as usual, as the service was only 'affected on some delivery systems'.
I remember once when BBC One went down during the cricket (early 1990s) and we were given a static apology caption and Radio 4's audio commentry! R4 were told of this fact about 5 minutes later and were in hysterics for some time on air!

(I'm just listening to some really funky tunes on my BBC One tape at the mo!) And is well as that, the number of pages is deceptive if you compare it with something like the original BBC World topic (one of the really early threads) as there's now 15 messages to a page, rather than 10.

Are those the best pics the Beeb could so?
Perhaps the control room
Even any bank of screens that shows all the BBC channels, showing the announcement.
It seems this was a rather speedily made story and they just threw together as many rushes as possible, so there was little time to think of screen asthetics.
That N24 report is dodgy, putting it down to technical problems and not a power failure, I don't understand how they managed to get up and running so quickly, and how if they didn't have any power did they manage to tape the monitors(which looked hastily placed!)

I think the 'Muzak' is the same as the stuff played overnight on BBC TWO at the weekends - before the Learning Zone
