There is nothing coming out of UKTV at all - SKYdigital is just sticking with a still of the previous channel, and DTT is still black!!
Why aren't UKTV apologising, or are they letting the beeb handle that??
Do I wish I hadn't have turned the TV off after the News?!
I always miss these, I didn't know about last years until 10 o'clock, almost 4 hours late!
Anyway, my Sky Digital UKTV is as above, Ceefax is at 9 past, BBC Two running late
What would the normal contigency plan for this sort of thing be?
Restore analog 'core' services first? BBC1/2, then DSAT, DTT and cable in that order? Or does it all go out of the window and they try and do what they can as soon as possible.
Is it conceivable that BBC1 and 2 output is currently being played not out of TVC but somewhere else?
And could the continuity announcements have been sent by ISDN or a leased audio circuit rather than the normal video ones, with the regions adding their own astons? (there was a 15/20 second gap between announcer on BBC2 saying the 1975 programme would now resume and it actually appearing).
Very odd.
Why would Sky News care?
It's not really anything to do with them, tv stations have faults all the time but they aren't going to give wall to wall coverage of it just because it's the BBC!
Power failure at TVC in London. Anologue BBC 1 and 2 broadcasting via backup generators.
Digital services still off-air. Major problems.

I'm surprised it took so long to get DTT back, comapred to analogue and even when I checked the sky box that managed to get back before digital cable/DTT.

Am I right in understanding people were seeing regional continuity (as in graphics)? I just saw the generic slides (B|B|C Two)

I would have thought they would focus on Analogue BBC One/Two first before they do anything - cos everyone can receive that. Then they restored Sky Digital, cos they have more subscribers than DTT. Am I wrong?
Also, how did the Beeb affect national DTT transmissions?
It is likely that control has been passed over to Birmingham and all regions are being managed from there.
Cardiff put in a special programme.
It wont be in the headlines! It's not news is it?!
Just because they went off air for a bit doesn't mean it is a story of major importance.
The only reason the last one was important was because ALL output was down, radio, Tv etc etc.
This one is not, just a little power problem.
The only thing they would bother to do is to say sorry, which the annoucers on BBC One and 2 have done already.
