Foreign drama thread (BBC4, C4's Walter Pres, Sky Arts etc)

I wonder if the regular 'Walter Presents' slot on More4 will be the 9pm Friday slot, where Resistance is currently airing? I won't be surprised if The Returned starts after Resistance finishes next Friday.

Incidentally Resistance has been in the mid 250k range and in More4's Top 10.

Will there be films as well as series via this service. Didn't FilmFour have a foreign language channel in it's subscription days?

I don't remember a World Cinema spin-off, but they certainly scheduled them, some at more accessible times.

Film4 still air world cinema, but at anti-social times, such as post midnight. In any case, I get my foreign language fix from Netflix, although I'll be giving Walter Presents a go. (I'd subscribe to Curzon, but they don't offer an app for LG sets.)

They did, FilmFour World. There was another channel called FilmFour Extreme though not sure what their definition of extreme was.

Yep - think they were both broadcast when Film4 was still a pay-TV channel rather than being subscription free (at least in SD). Think they both closed before, or when, Film4 went non-pay.

They closed long before Film4 went free, a few years in fact. They made way for FilmFour Weekly which showed the same (three?) films each night at the same time for seven days. This closed a few days before the main channel went free.

There was FilmFour Weekly which launched after the spin-off channels closed.

The Returned takes that slot on Friday 16 October.

Walter Presents has acquired Dicte from TV2 Denmark and Acquitted from TV2 Norway in a deal with Fremantle Media International.

Les Revenants is back on Friday on More4. I'm disappointed with their choice of channel, because More4 HD isn't FTA anywhere.

In fact, I think rather than complaining on a messageboard, I might try their viewer services.

I'm not happy about it either, but it appears C4 are using More4 for their foreign dramas as a precursor to it being a regular Walter Presents slot in the new year, alas the scheduling of Resistance and The Returned at 9pm on Friday's on More4 instead. Both should really get an airing on C4 as well.
