Spotted a BBC news microphone at a press conference scene in episode 3 of Cordon (which I am really enjoying, makes a change from crime and political dramas)

Here's one I spotted today:

DRAMA: Witnesses
On: Channel 4 HD (4)
Date: Wednesday 22nd July 2015 (starting in 12 days)
Time: 22:00 to 23:10 (1 hour and 10 minutes long)

Gripping and atmospheric French police thriller that explores the dark corners of the human psyche and how far people will go to exact the perfect revenge, starring Thierry Lhermitte and Laurent Lucas. In the north of France, a grim discovery is made: the bodies of a man, a woman and a teenager have been removed from their graves. Things become even more disturbing when these missing bodies, which have no connection to each other, are discovered in a show home, posed as if they were a family. The police soon make the connection with a similar scene discovered a month earlier. Near one of the bodies, Sandra Winckler, the young detective leading the case, finds a photo of Paul Maisonneuve, a retired police officer and a legend among the Northern France Crime Squad. His connection with the case forces him to come out of retirement and join the hunt for whoever is behind these macabre stagings.
(Subtitles, Subtitled, In French with English Subtitles, High Definition, Part 1 of 6, Episode 1, 4 Star)

You don't see any French drama on Freeview for ages, and then they come in thick and fast!

Resistance starts on More4 on Friday 28th August at 9pm.

Quote:
'Resistance', a French drama set during the Second World War and based on true events, tells the story of a group of young heroes fighting for freedom from Nazi occupation who join forces to produce a newspaper.

Paris, 1940: on Armistice Day, teenager Lili is caught by the police laying flowers at the foot of a French hero's statue. This begins a string of events that sees Lili thrown together with other like-minded students opposing German occupation.

Meanwhile, a small group of committed rebels have secretly joined forces to produce a newspaper called Resistance. Lili and her friend The Kid undertake the dangerous job of distributing copies of the publication and begin to fall in love. But, forced to move production of the newspaper to a new location, the group have no idea that they are under surveillance by the Gestapo.

Starring Pauline Burlet, Cesar Domboy, Richard Berry, Tom Hudson, Fanny Ardant and Isabelle Nanty.

Also Channel 4 have confirmed that Season 2 of The Returned will be on C4 this autumn.

Trailer for The Returned before Resistance on More4. Sadly, series 2 is being shown on More4 rather than Channel 4, which means HD content is behind a paywall.

Suggests that it may not have performed well enough to go on C4 as well, which is a bit sad. Fingers crossed the More4/E4 HD deals will end soon - the 4Seven HD and C4+1 HD slots on Freeview are crying out for them...

I don't think it also helps that the French are notoriously slow at producing new series, so it'd be hard to market a second series without airing series 1 first. All4 is showing the first in full for those who don't understand the plot.

Great news that Deutschland 83 is going to be broadcast on C4. I'm really hoping Sundance/RTL commission a second series.

"Walter Presents" though... Not sure about that...

And here I was thinking it was a nod to the first ever "Film on Four" - but no, it's the vanity of a "Chief Creative Officer". The idea that anyone "curates" viewing of an on demand service other than the viewer is some what patronising IMO, and not making use of the C4 brand is just stupid. I suspect it will rebrand sooner rather than later.

Really? Someone still has to make acquisition decisions, so I'd still treat these decisions as a form of curation. Arguably the curation of this services is more important.

We can hope so. "4World" would be a better brand IMO.
