It does certainly seem to be BBC Wales' digital channel instead of a programme...

Yep, they're showing 4:3 programmes in widescreen but pillarboxed (black bars down the side). If only CBBC could learn from that.

That may be your voice Geraint, but you must surely be cringing behind the scenes at the presentation of 2W! Smile

Cheers, Asa

As if Smile Green is the new black... hehehe, I've got a touch of the trippy tongue tonight, words arn't coming out as I planned. I promise not to say 'arse' Smile

Im all on my own here, so cuddle up and keep us company! Smile

Oh go on - say it. Something spectacular to launch Wales' exciting new service

I don't suppose there's a chance of someone capturing the 2W News Ident? And putting it up on the boards?

Cheers,
Mike (one of the minority without Sky Digital!)

Probably unsurprisingly, I'm just about to. As soon as Hot Property finishes on C5. I'll blame my mum for dragging me away from 2W Smile

The headlines opening sequence thing is quite a nice idea. Not too keen on the actual titles.

The astons are good, remind me of Vote 2001, or is that just me?

I like the whole 2W presentation, it's nice and modern. Strange that, for the BBC. I hope the new look BBC Two is something similar, especially with trailers, but then again we've seen new ones so it probably won't be!

Right click for Titles (256kb)

The newsreader just handed over to an OB (with kids obviously told what to say - I'm so cynical Very Happy   ). He did his piece to camera in front of the big video wall and handed over using a little floating television screen! What on earth is wrong with the massive video wall behind?!

Not sure of the crossed arms but I like the relaxed idea of it. And always grateful for another variation on the theme!

Here's a 'News roundup' pic:

That 'live OB' looked seriously pre-recorded to me.

At least 3 separate cutaways, one when one of the kids disappeared, and another when the presenter appeared holding a sparkler.

Weather forecast was interesting..

I think the weathergirl had a bit of trouble with her clicker - it didn't seem to work at first, and she worryingly looked at her map a few times. I wish she'd stop moving her hands about!

What are the idents and trailers like? Any hint of the generic look? Gill Sans anywhere? I'm a DTT viewer so I can't see any of this!
