Very nice use of including south bank show and eastenders .

Colin Jackson is commentating on the 3D coverage but he seems to be watching the regular feed. He said "I have been to this castle" but the 3D coverage didn't show the castle or any of the cutaways during that section, I expect they weren't made in 3D.

Okay, are they going to set fire to the tree and use that as the 'cauldron'?

Don't forget the AD feed. It is at least partially scripted but seems to be being read out live. There is no other commentary on this feed.

That makes at least three commentary feeds the BBC are providing.

The Eastenders doof-doofs seemed to have been given a bit of an odd delay-effect treatment, and then faded the end, which didn't sit as well as it could have. Lovely transition in and out of the shot though. No huge surprises with any of the music choices in the film, but that South Bank Show tune (Themes And Variations?) never gets old.

Not quite thumpy enough the EastEnders tune, was it? Never mind though, it's been very watchable so far and Huw and Co are keeping the talking to the minimum - I have my remote ready for the audio only option though!

Hmm, the helicopter moving over the stadium circle - that might just have been the closest we'll get to an Olympic ident for BBC One...

are they offering the Barry Davies world feed on any of the 24 extra channels? or scared of finding that an old school, well researched and informed commentator who knows when to shut up would be more popular than the main offering?

So the national anthem was sung and signed, why cut to a helicopter or crane where you can't see the signing? Stupid.
