The fact that they say they didn't know it was about 7/7 victims ( which i don't think it entirely was) is totally missing the point. They tape delayed it and chose not to include it upon seeing it.

It was a tribute to friends and family who had died including the 7/7 victims who appeared in the montage along with people like Seb Coe and Danny Boyle's fathers.

But as you say it is fairly irrelevant who it was a memorial to though, it's still very disrespectful just to not show it

There were quite a few complains from people on Twitter that the viewing angles were bad from the stand and other people were obscuring their view. I was watching it on a 42inch TV in 3D and surround sound, best way IMHO. Glad I wasn't there as many are! Most people went for the common sense approach of getting tickets for the events, me included.

Each to their own, but I wouldn't have swapped being there for the world, the energy and atmosphere in the stadium was incredible, it was such an emotional, thrilling experience to be part of and something I'll never forget.

I was at the very back so didn't really get a good view of the fireworks, but everything else was fine. The only seats I could see that would have had bad viewing angles would have been the ones right behind the tree, which were the last ones to be sold, complete with warnings.

I appreciate that you were there and got to sample the amazing atmosphere but to say that no seats really had a bad view seems stupid when you see this image from the seats behind the Tor. Yes, they were sold as restricted views, but at a cost of £1,600 each!

However, the most ankward moment in the Flags ceremony was marching of 4 Independent Olympic Athletes. I think they were real trolls. They looked happier, much more happier than others.

Awkward? no they were great!....

I looked at the restricted view tickets and they were £150, not £1,600. Still expensive yes, but not so painful.

I agree, I applaud them for trying to do something different and interesting, especially as they are likely to fall under the radar following the ceremony given their IOA status.

I'm watching it back now and bizarrely the section with the very short clips of various TV series features Modern Family (just before Sally Webster makes her cameo). All the rest seem to be British. Bit strange.

There was also a Spanish TV series, 'Cuéntame como pasó' a fictional drama based on life during Franco's dictatorship and the subsequent transition. TVE states that Danny Boyle knew of the series and had seen some of the episodes.

As for the fireworks - complete contrast to Beijing really. I don't think there were any fireworks until after midnight, and I didn't miss them one bit.

I think there were some small pyros earlier on in the ceremony - when the five rings came up from the ground. The main ones were definitely at 0030. They woke me up.

I didn't want to sat something negative about them.

I liked it much, to be honest. And I can admit that I found a wrong word to explain it. Definitely.

NBC continues it's shameless streak by asking Twitter to suspend account belonging to a UK journalist who dared to criticize them. Unbelievable! Shocked Mad

Haha, I can just imagine Jack Donaghy pouring himself a whisky to celebrate such a little win.

Apparently, NBC is Twitter's Official Narrator of the Games, whatever that means (according to MSN UK news website). And to think I thought "presenting partner" was a weird made-up term.

Does anyone know who wrote Benedict Cumberbatch's speech at the start of BBC One's coverage?
