Bit of an uproar in the States because NBC couldn't broadcast it live due to not being able to do commercial opt-outs...

The tape delay was the least of NBC's problems. For those who pointed out the BBC's (at times) shambolic presentation of the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, NBC's coverage of the Opening Ceremonies topped (or BOTTOMED) that.

The low point was NBC presenting a taped Interview with Michael Phelps editing out the moving tribute to the victims of 7/7.

Although that is a low point, but why would you know what it missed out if you were watching on NBC?

There were quite a few complains from people on Twitter that the viewing angles were bad from the stand and other people were obscuring their view. I was watching it on a 42inch TV in 3D and surround sound, best way IMHO. Glad I wasn't there as many are! Most people went for the common sense approach of getting tickets for the events, me included .

I'm not sure if that was an attempt to brag or an attempt at making a constructive point. Laughing

Yet you couldn't hear the audience singing along to Hey Jude? I'd call the manufacturer of sound system asap if I was you. It was easily heard on BBC One HD with a couple of normal speakers.

Paul & Colin have done an excellent job on BBC HD/3D tonight, why they need separate commentators I don't understand, but it seems that they've done a better job than the BBC One team as posts read on here.

3D and 2D mixes are being produced separately, and as commentary is supposed to work with the pictures, you need to do it separately. (If 3D are showing a close-up of something that needs contextualising, but 2D is showing something else, which do you commentate for if you are sharing commentary?)

Although as I mentioned last night, Colin Jackson was looking at the wrong feed at least once.

NBC is truly disgusting.

That fact has always been know, NBC could have slotted in umpteen 20sec adverts all over the place, especial over the walk-in section

And if you have a look at some of the message boards and tweets, some Americans see the NHS display as an insult and 'socialist' Rolling Eyes
