I wonder if they will be 'reborn' as C4 paralympics channels ?

Indeed they will, from 29/08/12 6 channels will be available (3 HD & 3 SD) occupying the slots from 450 to 455 on the EPG.

My BBC mug arrived this morning - Seeing it I think I'm the mug for paying that much for it but never mind!

Would you say it's better or worse than Dimbletat?

Yes this is important.

It's probably worse than Dimbletat - At least Dimbletat has a major event behind it! Who can forget the nail-biting moments of Election '79!

Perhaps the better question would be is it bigger or smaller than Dimbletat?

It's smaller!

On the K-Scale it's 4 Kays out of 5, Dimbletat is 6 Kays out of 5.

It would appear they are of equal size, although obv the dimblemug is more magnificent

Having six EPG positions implies that the three HD channels won't necessarily be simulcasts of the three SD channels ?

There were 48 EPG positions for the BBCs channels.

There were, and they were simulcasts of their SD counterparts. I wouldn't expect C4's offering to be any different.

Perhaps this will also herald the launch of More4 HD? Wink

Oh, didn't realise that. On Freesat there were only 24 EPG slots, you got either the 24 HD versions or the 24 SD versions depending whether you had an HD box or not.

I'd assumed Sky would be the same ?

I think VM had 48 slots though ?

BBC Three still has the time slot - as evidenced by a pulsing BBC Three logo and some repetitive music - one for the anoraks! I am sure there will be one YouTube poster using as we speak for a mock of BBC Three breakdown voiced in his own "inimitable" style....

Viewers on satellite may not be so lucky, I can only see the BBC Three slide on Freeview. So much for platform neutrality!

What is the music? I quite like it. It doesn't seem to have a beginning or an end though. On the plus side, it doesn't get interrupted by 60 Seconds either.

302 is being all psychedelic at the mo, 304 (301 HD) is broadcasting a static caption.

If they've still got 302 space - until Wednesday - why don't they show something on it, instead of the silly Red Button video on replay.
