Sonali Shah has been presenting some of the 9am-2pm shifts on BBC3 and is location presenter for Archery and Triathlon. She's been at BBC Sport a while now, presented Cricket World Cup highlights in India, Triathlon events and British Olympic Dreams. She's also been a reporter at Wimbledon, the Boat Race and the Derby.

We won't see much of her tonight though, if at all again. They've been a bit short today - Clare Balding presenting in the studio 10.50-6. Hazel did Olympic Breakfast, Matt's at Gymnastics, Jake's at the Velodrome, Sue's at Wimbledon and Gary's in the stadium.

Ahh thanks all. And why have they got Gary and John Inverdale in the stadium? Is it really needed? I think either John or Gary could have been in the stadium alone with he usual guests; Denise, Colin and Michael. And considering Claire had a long shift today compared to others in previous days.

Isn't Gary Lineker in the same studio space as Inverdale? If so they don't seem to be acknowledging that.

That does seem to be the case - working well enough though.

Lineker incorrectly identifying Max Whitlock just then. Unfotunate.

I'm not sure, as they have just cut from one to another, seems like a strange set up this evening. There hasn't really been any point moving Gary out of the studio, thus far! Sonali Shah has done one link so far, mainly as there isn't enough time for three presenters, but because Gary is interviewing people (like he has done all week) live inside the stadium.

Yes, we were worried but they've got it right and it's no demotion for Inverdale.

Of course there is, it acknowledges the importance of the night, and means the viewer gets even more of the atmosphere.

In this case why have a studio at all? Still don't really see the need for two presenters in one location!

Don't worry, when the set lights are down Lineker will tip him head first over that balcony

You may want to turn the volume down a bit

In this case why have a studio at all?

Because there is a lot more than one venue being used, and the Athletics is only one part of the Olympics.

Still don't really see the need for two presenters in one location!

It means less breaks from the atmosphere, and tells the viewer immediately, something big is happening.
