Just watching Midlands Today back off the Sky Plus.

Specially recorded anno over 'Bikes' & no flash of Network or News Channel.

Better than last nights edition which was split between the Mailbox & Halesowen.

(Who did the anno & how much notice did they have?)

The anno was live, done from the Pres Gallery at BBC Brum - MT opted 2 minutes early and kept network going through their vision mixer - notice was virtually next to none!

Well if it was live, it was 10 out of 10 IMO.

Christa Ackroyd live from the Olympic Park studio today for Look North.

Have they got a studio set aside for the regions in the tower block, that everyone is using one day in turn?

Neil Bell (of South East Today) also did a live from a studio overlooking the Olympic stadium.

As did Nick Clitheroe on Midlands Today - I think they must have 4 or 5 'living rooms' for DTLs.

Think they have at least one - but I suspect regions are sharing. Bit like GNS does with radio two-ways.

@GaryLineker: Decision has been made to put me inside the Olympic stadium to present tomorrow night. 1OOmetre final. Could not be more excited #lovemyjob

So, that seems rather disrespectful to John Inverdale to me.

You might say rather, I would say very disrespectful. Im a big fan of Gary but John Inverdale was chosen to present athletics coverage. I thought he was incredible at the rowing over the last couple of days and even welled up himself during an interview.

To drop John Inverdale instead of someone who has never covered at an athletics meet before is just idiocy. Bad call.

I expect that John hasn't been dropped either. Gary will probebly be in the stadium studio area with John in a different area of the stadium.

If Gary's there he should be in another part of the stadium top and tailing the programme with John in the stadium studio with the pundits. Otherwise that really isn't right. Gary has never done a minute of Athletics before. It would be entirely wrong for him to jump into Inverdale's shoes. Let's hope this isn't quite what it seems.
