It's actually three separate houses and has been compulsory purchased for the games.
I believe The Big Breakfast house has been hired out for the games, though I think for corporate events rather than broadcasting - as frankly it's not got the height to get the shots over Olympic park people would want.
I suspect too it's the spacious garden rather than the house which might appeal to those wanting a venue near the Olympic park.

Lock Keepers Cottages was three seperate houses before becoming the Big Breakfast House in 1992. A few years
ago though, the property had been included in initial plans for the area, and was under threat of a CPO, which
would have meant the property being demolished and the site being cleared for redevelopment.
The plans changed, and the property is still there, and is still privately owned. If there had been a CPO, it would
have been issued around the time the plans finalised, and the property would've been demolished by now.
The former Big Breakfast House is still standing. If the developers responsible for the Olympic project had any
plans at all to redevelop the entire site upon which it stands, they'd have already done it long before now.

Some details on the Opening Ceremony:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16747032
I'm sure they announced a 7.30pm start time last year but now they seem to be saying a pre-show at 20:12 with the ceremony beginning at 9pm. Based on previous years if the ceremony begins that late the flame won't be lit until after 1am.

I was out and about around the Olympic Park on Friday, and took some snaps that will probably be of interest here.
Lund Point, where BBC News will be during the Games

another BBC presentation point is on the other side of the Park, near Hackney Wick - on the top floor balcony of the grey & glass building.

(You just about make out a light at the corner - they were using it for the 'six months to go' reports)
Lock Keeper's Cottages, Old Ford Lock...

Note the big green fence just behind the house itself, meaning there's not really a very great view into the Park. That said, it might just be a temporary thing during the construction phase.
The last two shots were taken from more or less the same spot, by the locks.
And these were down by Westfield:http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7021/6783094225_fdf1b06faa.jpg
I think the sat truck was working for ITV. They had a radio link receiver pointing up to the roof of Westfield, or at least to the viewing room in John Lewis.
