Love the shot! Nice glimce of the Shard! Imagine what they would have had to do if the shard hadn't been opened or wasn't completed!
It's been looking pretty much like that for a long time now, presumably when making the sequence they would have had a good idea if it was off-schedule (especially with the amount of money that's gone into that thing).
Found a few interesting things on Roger Mosey's Twitter account (he's the BBC's director of London 2012). He says the opening ceremony will be repeated on BBC One on the evening of Saturday 18th August. Also he's uploaded a shot of the gallery for the 24 channels: https://twitter.com/rogermosey/status/229182080427388928/photo/1

Thanks for that, I wouldn't mind watching it in full again actually, although I presume it will be cut down in parts.
Hadn't noticed until now that there are (at least) two different full-length title sequences for the BBC's coverage. (It becomes rather obvious when you've got BBC One and Three on adjacent monitors.)
This morning's BBC One coverage ran on until 1315. They must have known about it reasonably far in advance: BBC Two ran a 45 minute edition of Bargain Hunt at 1230, instead of a 30 minute one.
