Is the commentary/audio a little ahead of the Vision?

I think so, Guy Mowbray called GB hitting the post before we saw it.

Glad I wasn't imagining things.

The BBC Sport logo falls off the edge of the screen as well. My TV doesn't overscan and all I can see it 'BC Sport' with the rings.

Similar here - an oldish 23" Samsung LCD screen fed by Sky+HD thru DVI (no HDMI) and the DOG's cut off if it's on either side.

No issues watching on HD for me.

Is there some rule stating that the Olympic rings must be in the 4:3 safe area? EDIT: Hang on that makes no sense, as BBC One is DOG-free.

So is BBC One HD.

It must be that someone has decided it would look better next to the scorebox for football. I don't think it does though

I think the OBS graphics are quite poor in design, personally. Does anyone know what system they are made on? They look like they've only been half done in terms of animation.

Why did the referees lower third animate more than the rest? Why does the top blue line have some animation, but no movement elsewhere?

The slanted boxes only really work next to each other on a horizontal line. Anything with more than 1 line of information vertically looks horrible. The football score bug would look much better in a line across the top of the screen.

I find it hard how a designer could justify an italic font on a slanted box either, it makes everything look unbalanced - not ideal for displaying a lot of information quickly.

I'd even go as far as to question whether NBC have had a say in the graphics. What's with the 3D flags?

I do half like these graphics though. The colours do remind me of 00s BBC Sport.

I wouldn't be at all surprised. My first thought on seeing them was that they seemed to be geared towards the American broadcast market.

Whoops - bit of a typo there on BBC1...

Nope, very much viewing in 16:9 (No wrong aspect ratio set here!).

Your TV clearly has overscan set - whether or not you can turn it off is a different matter.
