It's almost all over . . . (November 2011)

Is that the only way to hear it yet? If so, if someone could capture that it'd be great.

At the risk of antagonising the Beeb - here it is (4.79MB, 5'13", Poorly cut at the start and finish!)

Not tooo keen on the black coloured desk, from my opinion

The view from the BBC studio is great, you can see right across to the City and The Shard.

Maybe they should rethink that move to Broadcasting House?

I liked the fact that when Sophie was positioned head-on you could see the stadium and the Orbit in all their glory but when she was positioned side-on you had a stunning view of the City and the Shard. Not too keen on the angle they used for her guest at lunchtime. There was a large Westfield and John Lewis sign visible over the shoulder! Not very professional of the BBC I thought.

It's almost as if it would have helped putting it up a few days before the games begin specifically to iron out issues like that.

Oh, hang on...

I don't see it changing drastically within the next few days. Thinking about it some more, it is probably just so they can say "Press Red" rather than "Press Red unless you are watching on Freeview". In reality, most Freeview viewers will probably realise it is quicker just to change channels in the usual way.

I was a little disapointed to find that you can't go to something like http://www.bbc.co.uk/olympic7/programmes/schedules
and find out what is on the extra channels.

They've just added a DOG to the Olympic channels. Also it seems the Press Red application has now been changed to just say there are no live events.

They've just added a DOG to the Olympic channels.

Some anyway, they must be doing them one by one.

Looks good. Hopefully BBC Three either goes dogless or uses one of these.

Really? It's a bit big IMO, and doesn't need to say "BBC Sport" just BBC

If you're trying to sell the 'BBC Sport' brand Phil it needs to say 'BBC Sport'. It doesn't need to say anything, it doesn't need to be there. But they've decided to put it there and I for one like it.

If they were that serious on selling the brand they would have been consistent in what logo they used across different services (including the DOG) but they aren't are they.

If it has to stay like that, it's still too big for my liking.

That does appear to be what they're doing, the DOG was just added to 18 and 19 and both cut to black and lost sync when it was added, suggesting they're having to reroute each channels playout chain to add in the graphics technology.

I've just noticed that when I tried to pause on BBC Olympics 1 HD, it says it's not available. I can't upload a screenshot unfortunately, but it says;
Quote:
Live pause is not avaliable. Call the broadcaster for assistance

In a Sky+HD 'For your information' banner. It also won't record, is this going to be fixed before Wednesday when the footie starts?

That's because it's treated as the channel being in downtime, same as when the BBC HD Preview is running, it acts as if the channel is off air. You'll find you cannot record "This is BBC Olympics 1 HD" etc. but if you try to record one of the events later in the week it'll work.
