BBC 2012 - The Olympic Broadcaster

NBC's Olympic set made a brief appearance on Meet the Press earlier today,

Looking at that NBC logo I think one thing it is worth noting is that for all the fuss about the 2012 logo when it was revealed we'll probably hardly see it during the games themselves, with the Olympic rings of course being the dominant brand both in the stadium and on braodcast graphics.

I suspect that's inside the IBC - I did wonder what they were using all that space for. NBC's area is about twice the size of the BBC's.

In Athens their space was about 1/2 the size of the entire EBU's allocation - 5 times the space the entire BBC operation used.

Even by the usual US TV standards, the NBC London 2012 logo is dreadful

It looks like a logo for a bottle of ale - a lot like Bombardier Ale, actually.

It goes against the whole point of the official logo.

I think that's the point. Although I think NBC use some awful creation like that for every games?
