And I think you're quite likely to see the Lund Point studio on air for the Six O'Clock News on the 20th, what with it being a week to go..

Although isn't the Ten O'Clock News on the day before the games the one to be watching? Wink

Is there a logical reason the trailer at http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/olympics/18165601 is recorded from the Euro 2012 coverage? (At least I think it is based on the sound at the start and end.)

Slight tweak to the test broadcast graphic, but still keeping to the gold and black look:

Slightly off topic but notice Eurosport are only broadcasting the games on their main channel. Is that usually the case - I thought last time around they used both.

P.S. I think that revised BBC screencap would probably be refused entrance to the mock gallery here. It's pretty damn awful.

Oh, I don't know, I'd say Breakfast on the Monday would be a good one to watch too.

I'm not sure I've posted my picture of the view from Lund Point yet, have I?

Can't they just do a green screen version instead and take out the awful helter skelter.

On the note of the 2D/3D switch I believe it is only supported by the latest revision of MHEG as used on Freesat and Freeview HD. I don't believe Sky's OpenTV system supports it (the current Linux system probably does, but I don't think Sky exposes this for interactive applications yet, which all currently run through the OpenTV emulator). I'm not sure about cable, but I would be very surprised if the old V+ boxes support this feature. I don't know what system the TiVo boxes are using yet.

Therefore the separate broadcasts are still very much necessary.

Satellite and cable don't have the capacity issue that Freeview does so you can do seperate streams on those platforms.

The sound has just died at the London Althetics Grand Prix on BBC1.

John Inverdale and Tanni were talking and their mikes died, now we just have the sound from the ground and no presenters or commentators for the high jump and the womens 100m hurdles.

Sounds like the sound mixer has crashed.

EDIT: Back now without even an apology.

EDIT 2: Just had an apology from one of the commentators.

Apologised just now, probably weren't aware on location.

John Inverdale apologised again and then they appeared to have the problems again at 14:58

More sound problems, they seem to be getting drowned out by the stadiums PA.
