This seems to suggest the BBC will be using just a slightly modified version of the current package. I don't really have a problem with that as I think it's such a strong package and the OBS graphics seems as if they could be positive if the video game is anything to go by.

Anyone able to clarify Sunday 27th. BBC2 has F1 highlights 5.30-7pm and Olympics 5-7pm. BBC1 has no Olympics 5-7pm. Is the F1 on BBC1 (with the news at 5pm)?

Also the BBC News at One is at 1.15pm on the Tuesday. Some sensible scheduling around event start/finish times I guess

One odd thing I noticed is Jonathan Edwards seemingly being involved with canoe slalom coverage Confused

If they're just using the generic look for the Olympics that just isn't very special at all, and doesn't really complement the official graphics either.

Must say though the splash screen is very, very, nice:

Reading that blog post, it sounds like they might have had some consultation meetings with Perfect Curve.

Yeah, totally.

It's a poor quality YouTube video, but it seems there is a new, 40-second version of the trailer now floating around . . .

Wouldn't be surprised if they used this version for programme titles. Hope not, but wouldn't be surprised . . .

They've already said on the BBC Sport website and various other places that the 1 minute version will be used as the titles.

Good good. The 40-second version would be a decent choice for the likes of the 1pm and 10pm BBC Two programmes.

Actually, come to think of it, the BBC have had long and short versions of the titles for every Olympics since at least 1988.

In other news . . . and very OT . . . but just got me tickets to the 100m final!! BOOM!!

It looks like the first sport transmission will be Wednesday 25th at 3.30pm on BBC One with GB v NZ football from the Millennium Stadium, presented from the studio at the Olympic Park. The BBC Three studio will be on air at 7pm the same day for coverage Cameroon v Brazil in the Women's football - kick-off is at 1845, but the channel won't have had its hours extended yet, so you'll only get the whole thing on the red button.

And I think you're quite likely to see the Lund Point studio on air for the Six O'Clock News on the 20th, what with it being a week to go..
