David Harewood ( David Estes in Homeland) is doing the voiceover for the BBC adverts

From his Twitter.
I'm in a sound studio recording the voice over for the BBC Olympic trailers! The animation is awesome and is making me homesick.

That Olympics trailer is fantastic. I got goosebumps watching it. The BBC Concert Orchestra arranged by the band Elbow. Outstanding #winners

Well it's not like he's American, he's a Brummie...

This is video might be of interest, it's the gameplay from the London 2012 video games.

Now if the TV graphics on this game are akin to those used as the official graphics, it will come as some surprise that they've not used not just generic Olympic graphics which have evolved for the past 12 years or so, but something that actually reflects this Olympics individual branding. It should be noted previous Olympics video games have more or less used the official graphics, so I hope this is the case here as I like these.

Interesting they've used someone from BBC Radio Sheffield and someone else as the commentators. I'd have thought they'd have attempted to use the likes of Clare Balding and Inverdale, but presumably that budgets didn't stretch that far.

They are very nice and as you say the official game is usually a strong hint towards the branding, and they do fit in with other aspects I've seen (the purple rostrums are confirmed for example). Very neat graphics and also nice to have a bit of branding specific to London, yet they'd still be able to easily update them for Sochi and beyond without compromising anything

Those people at Comedy Central can be quite grumpy can't they?

Rich that they'd accuse someone else of piping drivel. For a comedy network, they take life awfully seriously.

Yes that's the plan between 8.30-8.45pm. But there is also a 2m 40s version that we will apparently see on Tuesday. Can't wait.

I didn't even realise that diver was animated until I saw the teaser trailer with the gymnast. Can't wait to see it in all of its glory!

I guess tonight's version then might be closer to what the titles will be with it being just a minute long. The snippets so far do look very promising, though I'd have thought for London at least they'd put more effort into the promo campaign than just running the titles early, which they've done since 2004 I think.

And there it was- looked fantastic! Can't wait to see more. Was that another cut of the same track used on the Torch Relay advert (by Elbow)? Sounded similar...

The endboard of the trailer was sublime. Artistically brilliant and I just love how the music is continuing ever more to grow on me. It was a treat to watch the beautiful scenes and landscapes, and the superb animation of each of the sports featured.
