I assume it would be too much trouble technically to change their caption generator template for just one caption, and hence display a caption in the same style as any other Newsnight caption.
To be quite honest, I don't see why they should bother anyway. If the programme studio is expected to do their own trailer, that's what's likely to happen - mind you, couldn't Pres just key on their own caption over the output from the Newsnight studio? Then the studio could be told not to display a caption.
I notice slight variations every time a trailer is produced 'from studio'. On Question Time for example, they have the colours and fonts right for the end wipe, but the wipe itself is smooth (50Hz temp. res.) rather than the filmic 25Hz version on 'proper' trailers.
