I think that Ariel is very understated and often ignored.
BBC TWO should always use it when a programme moves from BBC ONE!

Also, what idents are favourites in your region? Which usually appear at 1pm Sunday or 7.30pm Thursday?

I hated copper cut out, i never liked fibre optics either but they should bring firecraker back.

Anyone think the dak version of the tippy water one looks awful?

The best way to get this ident is before James Bond Movies. The ident suits the program,which is why It's used before the film!Smile

In case some of you arn't familar with the proper names, they are as follows:

Those Currently In Use (In order of introduction)

Blade, Neon, Paint, Water (1991)
Optic, Powder (1994)
Dog, Car (1996)
Ariel, Duck, Paint Pot, Zapper (1997)
Swan (1998)
Catalyst, Excalibur, Kebab, Predator, Wave Day, Woodpecker, Wave Night (2000)

(only mainstream idents are mentioned)

No longer used

Copper Cut Out, Silk, Black and White Copper Cut Out, Shadow, Water Reflection, Glass, Paper Cut Out, Crystal Ball, Garden, Balloon, Diary, Firecracker, Steam, Learning Zone '2'

BTW,you probably won't know,but does anyone know what ident presseded the premiere of 'The Wrong Trousers'? I thought it was the Car one,but since that was 1996 It can't be!

Got a feeling that was at Christmas, when the theme for the Christmas idents was Wallace and Gromit, sitting at the dinner table with the 2

Car must've been used for a repeat - your memory isn't mistaken.

On Planet 625 & TV 50 they both cleary have the B& W copper cut out with the 1997 caption, must have bee rare on screen as I don't remeber it:? Very Happy

Is the Wallace and gromit one you're refering to the one where it said

Animated 2
/B/B/C/

and had a piano crashing throught the floor while paying the ident music?
