BBC 2 idents

Not sure if this has been mentioned elsewhere... but...

I've noticed that since the URL has been removed from the network BBC 2 symbols, you can now see through the purple BBC 2 box. When re-editing the symbols they seem not to have keyed the box on correctly.

Aside from the the box being a bit pale, if you look at a symbol like Bounce, you can now faintly see the 2 moving behind the box.

Maybe that's the intention. I've suggested from the start of the box era, that they should be around 10-20% transparent.

It's not the intention, they've been badly keyed onto the idents.

Even the good old BBC can make a UTV mistake

Er, I think you'll find that all the versions that play out from Broadcasting House in Belfast have been correctly keyed.

Slightly OT, but whilst watching the tennis on 2 yesterday (i have telewest digital), i noticed that the "Press Red" button is bigger than it used to be. I pressed the red button and i noticed that the interactive menu was transparent (ie see through). Has anyone else noticed this?

I'd actually not noticed that the purple box was a bit transparent, but I did notice that the lettering and BBC logo look much more jagged than before. Anyone else notice this?

Yep, like it's been grabbed from a juddery freeze frame of the actual logo.
