It seems the BBC NI guys are using the symbols to promote the BBC's VOICES season. This symbol went out tonight at 9pm with a voice over by Gerry Anderson from Radio Ulster and Radio Foyle, in place of the announcer on duty tonight.

I think we might see a few more of these over the next week. Perhaps they might even have a bit of micky-taking fun with the symbols Wink

Caught the backend of a Holby City intro last night on NI and didn't sound like any of the usual guys? Anyone heard any other amusing announcements?

It was local comedian Colin Murphy who is (as part of Voices) presenting a programme called TV Fads on BBC ONE NI this Friday night at 9.

Yes... so I hear.

However, I think Friday night on BBC 1 NI will be the night for quite a few of these, and may be something a bit more unusual.

"Hello it's me, Colin Murphy, again. Just look at these two! Go on, hit him....HIT HIM!! What's on now? Oh yeah, EastEnders"

Brilliant.

Lucky you. We had the standard Scottish announcer telling us, "It really is time Alfie made his decision...in EastEnders".

I wouldn't mind so much, but there's isn't a chance in hell this awful EastEnders storyline will be resolved tonight - so a quirky anno would at least have been something.

There was another one in to EastEnders earlier this evening... and, I'd imagine we'll see something between the two local programmes at 9:30 too. Wink

If anyone is interested, I captured the ident into Give My Head Peace (at 9.30pm), its avalible here if anyone wants it.

I wish that BBC One Network would try something a little different, like the Nations do..

It's like a mini sitcom during the junction! Nicely done.

For anyone interested there was a static, silent Capoeira on Network into the news just now. Equipment problems?
