Has anybody else noticed that over the last week or so, BBC 1 have been showing longer versions of the idents? Could this mean that we are soon to say goodbye to the much-hated BBC One 'box idea' and for one last time the BBC are broadcasting the idents in their full glory (if you can call it that)? ........I doubt it, but what does everyone else think?.....
I was thinking the same myself. Even if they do change the adverts, the box will stay. It may move to the right to fit with the others, but whatever, it will stay.
It brings the channels together.
I wonder if there is any reason why BBC One is alone on the left, why for example BBC Three isn't, so that it goes left, right, left, right, etc.

All channels except BBC1 have their box on the right. Very odd IMO. I was expecting BBC3's box to be on the left with BBC1's.
Yeah me too, I just don't understand why they're all on the right bar BBC One's. Nothing wrong with that, it looks ok, but it seems strange that BBC Three's isn't there too.

I know this technicaly isn't a channel... but doesn't BBCi have a box on the left?
Interesting, I'm not exactly sure, I usually turn it over when I see the garish green, though I'm guessing it will change to fit in with the new white - red & black pallette.
What do News 24 do? I'm sure theirs is on the right, though I'm not confident.
That's another thing. Why don't News 24 just use the tower (minus the clock) for their box, or at least a similar design with the globe on? At least then the box would seem different to BBC One's and I find that their box doesn't look as nice as the Tower for some reason, with the text layout.
Don't you think that a small coloured box squashed in the corner - which seems to move from region to region looks too tacky?
I prefered the left-hand-side straplines that were used on BBC 1 and 2 in the nineties - with the '1' or the '2' in the top left corner of the screen, with a thin strap running down the screen. Do you know what I mean???

Yeah, they looked good, but that idea wouldn't really work too well with widescreen transmissions nowadays. Saying that, the stupid boxes we have now don't really work in widescreen either!
The 1997 trailer design was perfect for widescreen and 4:3 presentation. A centred BBC logo...
