Well I waited up to see Frank Skinner after missing it earlier in the week and thanks to the magic of recorded continuity and unpublished extended highlights of the rugby, FS was cancelled and Harry Hill turned up late. No apology, no announcement, pathetic.
Exactly the same here. It's just irritating when you stay up to watch something and it doesn't arrive - I presumed it would follow the rugby.

That is VERY poor. I am sure if they had thought about it, Paul Jamieson could have recorded a few extra links before he went off duty to replace the already recorded automation.
ITV1 Presentation is at times becoming worse particularly the NEXT, LATER promos over the end credits - you could turn this into a family game over Christmas - will it work? Will we get just the audio? Will be get the just the audio and perhaps a few seconds of the visual graphics as the audio ends? These parts of the new look presentation have never been good.
If they don't work correctly each time don't use them!
Giving the benefit of the doubt here. I wonder if there is credible research regarding the technical look of TV presentation/promotion that shows it has no impact on viewers. As a direct result of that research has the conclusion been reached, there is no point in wasting any time or money on it?

I wasn't around at the point when Frank Skinner should have apppeared, but to be fair to Paul, every time the rugby had cropped up on a caption earlier in the evening, he'd made a point of words like "a repeat of the WHOLE match, rather than just highlights" in his script.

Well there's a chance that he may have mentioned the cancellation of Frank Skinner at Midnight just before the rugby, but he or they forgot to fade his mic up so we got a clean ident instead.
A similar thing occured earlier yesterday as well when Glen Thompsett also was silenced just before On The Ball
Re the Overnight announcements, its quite obvious they are recorded in daylight hours and without any thought about what time they are going out. Before Turn on Terry at 1.20am late Thursday/Early Friday we had something like "Don't miss the start of a special Touch of Frost season, later on tonight at 8 on ITV1". In my opinion 8pm Friday night is still 'tommorow' at that time. The announcer was Sonia by the way

Oh for Gods sake you lot, get a life, does it REALLY matter that Sonia's anno mentioned today or tomorrow...what she should have said in that particular situation at that time of night was "Friday nights at 8 on ITV1" That way, she would have alleviated any problems.
P-L-E-A-S-E have something more constructive to say on this forum!!
Well if you script your links for your next application like that you might get accepted or have you not yet finished decorating the bathroom with your rejection letters?
Forgive me if I have this wrong but I thought this forum was to discuss TV presentation - weren't the previous posting doing just that?
Well it wasn't just that it was the fact that it was just a random programme that was mentioned, no mention of what was coming up, what was next, what was at this time tommorow etc.

Totally agree there, Steve.
Piles of toys next to prams come to mind.
I'm just trying to work out where I might have come across our "local luvvy". Our paths must have crossed, possibly in an interview waiting room, somewhere!
