We're too busy worrying about the leap second to think about RBS tests thank you.

Any more news on this?

TV guide sources are not showing any signs of the tests yet.......

Tests were scheduled for the 5th/6th and have been postponed, apparently

They're running a bit late this year, I hear - I fear the tests on the 8th are a red herring. Expect them before the end of the month if network give the go-ahead.

Well there wont be much room for them on BBC-2 unless they wait until the Learning Zone thins out a bit. That was why they were always scheduled in previous years before the Learning Zone got started again

Did the engineering tests happen yesterday?

No. As reported above in this very same thread, they have been postponed.

I think this is when the tests have been on in the last few years:

September 1999
August 2000
July 2001
December 2002
December 2003
January 2004
January 2005

That raises an interesting question, though...why did the 2004 tests appear so quickly after the 2003 tests?

As I remember, it was to test bits of kit that got messed up in the big power cut that put News 24's relaunch back in December 2003.
