Will somebody please pass me the u-links when they've been pulled out.
I'm giving up and want to plunge them into my chest!

Just to confirm those times - BBC Reception's website states (their bad grammar, not mine):
http://www.bbc.co.uk/reception/answers.shtml#patterns
Wonder if "patterns" implies something other than the test card?

Why can see test patterns on my screen?
Tonight there is going to be some engineering tests across the whole of the analogue TV network. BBC ONE and BBC TWO from every analogue Transmitter will be affected. This will be at the end of programmes Thursday night/Friday morning. The times are:
BBC TWO: 02:00 - 03:00
BBC ONE: 03:30 - 04:30

I'm hoping for the anthem for western mercia on BBC1 Midlands. Can Nick confirm if any regional flags will be shown tonight?

What the HECK is that on Two?
It's some sorta coloured bars type thing with 'BBC London TV Centre, CAR' at the top, a spinning oval in the middle with '-18dBF Source 16:9 6 2 5' in it, and www.bbc.co.uk in yellow at the bottom! It's just replaced a rather postage stamped PFC...

a little log as I'm up...
BBC 2 closed down, we had about 4 mins of PFC, 16:9 letterboxed with lower frequency than normal tone, and now there is an interesting test pattern with colour bars in the middle, an animated circle with red and green bits running round it, and... well I was gonna tell you what it said but it's just gone to TCJ and done the switchover to rebroadcast.
