Even those ones though were far superior to the dance idents which replaced them. It's not just the image, but the soundtrack is superb - distinctive enough to make you sit up and take notice, but unstated enough so it didn't drown out the CA or ever feel inappropriate. All they needed to do in 2001 was slap the red box logo on them and they could easily have seen BBC1 through to the circles era.
They were, and are, beautiful idents and look every bit as good today. I agree with some though that the latter ones, like that bungee one, were not so good and in some ways diluted the impact and feel of the originals.
