Regardless of what has or hasn't gone on in Mr Barrymore's personal life over the years - swimming pool incident and all - I was glad to see the back of him when he disappeared from telly a few years back.
An ability to behave hyperactively is NOT entertainment. He was hideously over-rated, and has little note-worthy talent IMHO. I liked Strike It Lucky/Rich, but it was the FORMAT that I liked, rather than him. If it comes back, it should either be with a different host, or Mr Barrymore should be given tranquilisers before the cameras roll.
Actually, a lot of his formats were good. My Kind Of People and the "Barrymore" show were brilliant showcases for the talents and quirks of the random general public, but Mr Barrymore always seemed like a big nothing to me.
Actually, something like Richard Hammond's 5 o'Clock Show is sort-of the new "My Kind Of People", in as much as it showcases quirky people and stuff. But without bloody Barrymore hosting, thankfully. Who needs Barrymore?
