I presume that Barrymore has now been informed about the private prosecution that's being served on him. He must consider this a huge setback in his attempts to start afresh.
He's bound to get a few gigs on "car crash TV" (eg. The Friday Night Project) but Barrymore will always be damaged goods in the eyes of any TV company looking to produce the kind of clean family entertainment that he's always been associated with in the past.
While any theories about his involvement in Stuart Lubbock's death will always be pure conjecture (and therefore libellous), what we can say without fear of libel is that Barrymore always refused to answer important questions about the events of that evening at the coroner's inquest, for fear of incriminating himself. The coroner also expressed a view, after the inquest, that Barrymore had lied while giving evidence.
What it boils down to is that Barrymore has always put himself above the Lubbock family's need to have crucial questions answered about their son's death. Nobody is accusing him of murder, but he does stand accused of failing to pass on the whole truth to a coroner's court and to the family of the bereaved. This black cloud is always going to haunt Barrymore unless he comes clean.
What we saw inside the Big Brother house was a troubled man, and the Lubbock family are never going to go away in their search for answers, as long as they still know Barrymore knows more than he's letting on. I personally think he'd be doing everyone, including himself, a big favour if he answered a few questions. Only then can everyone concerned begin to move on.

When you've got time to pull your heads out of the sand, you might want to stop creating opinions for other people!!

To be honest, I reckon that if he gets all of this business about the pool over, he may get another chance.
I'd love to see him come back on Kids Say The Funniest Things if anybody remembers that.. and Strike It Rich for it's theme tune.. and My Kind Of Music because I have no choice.
No. More than likely Ant and Dec or possibly Jim Bowen again, or has he left TV for good?

It wouldn't surprise me if he was to host the revived Bullseye.

I'm sure I heard the theme to that on Alan Yentob's Imagine last night when he showed a clip of The Royle Family watching TV.

Could seem awkward when they get to the 'Ask me anything' part of the show.
I can just see Barrymore becoming the nervous schoolkid again.

Yes, but I don't think he was quite expecting the positive public reaction as he imagined.

Before Barrymore left New Zealand, he stated that he was leaving on the latest flight possiblte and the earliest flight after he was booted out of the show as he didn't want to be in Britain for longer than he had to.
