I wonder if Paul will / can continue or will want to continue at all ? They were both planned to appear in panto in Hull this year, I guess its possible that Paul still could, but obviously the whole act was about them both.

I have vague memories of that episode, I remember something about one of them playing a keyboard continuously, but one of their other stunts leading to the power cutting out a matter of seconds before breaking the record. I don't recall seeing that one in later CBBC channel repeats in the 00s, maybe they didn't show that one?

Look!

This is from 1994, so it must be one of Roy's last TV appearances.

Peter Simon was a regular on Saturday Superstore too, albeit in a very minor role as one of Keith Chegwin's assistants on the outside broadcasts.

Considering what he did its odd to think he was one of only two people that appeared on Superstore and were kept on for the new programme

Indeed, as one of Cheggers' "helpers", alongside Kjartan Poskitt who was a regular face on CBBC at the time. It was a very minor role, and actually I was looking it up recently and the outside broadcasts were pretty sporadic in the later years of SuperStore, certainly compared to Swap Shop, there was probably about a dozen during the series and Cheggers was in the studio much more frequently. Though as far as I was concerned, Peter Simon was pretty much a new face to me on Going Live.

I have a vague memory as well of seeing that episode and my dad doing his typical "he's dead now" thing about Roy Castle. The episode went out a few months before he died, so that must have been from a repeat a year or so later.

I remember him being paired with a female 'helper', I think I assumed at the time they were a couple! No idea what her name was or what if anything she went on to do but they're both definitely on the OB on the last episode. I remember recognising him on the first episode of Going Live and wondering what had happened to her

Patsy Titcombe, who I've seen in the credits of various other CBBC shows from around the time, so I assume she was a member of the production team earning another few quid on a Saturday morning.

Paul might decide to work with his older brother Jimmy (aka No Slacking) again.

Paul's going to be on Monday's This Morning with Ruth & Eamonn so we may find out more on what he feels the future lies for him.

I wonder if anyone here's planning on going to Rotherham next Saturday to join the crowds lining the street outside the stadium to pay respects? I probably would have as Rotherham's very near here, but I'm being dragged away on family stuff I can't get out of.
