The clips in the title sequence got updated quite frequently though.

They did speed up the title sequence later on as well (30 seconds to 19 seconds).

https://youtu.be/xOn2DZPJskE Another treasure starring the chuckle brothers... I met them in St Albans dressed as the chucklehounds

Yes when the show went to 15 minutes in the 2004 series. It was also around this time the BBC edited some of the earlier 20 minute episodes to 15 minutes to fit their schedules, which I never liked.

RIP Barry Chuckle. A true star of my childhood along with brother Paul and made getting up for school in the mornings worth it.

Clips yes, rest of it no. Mind you it was easy to convert it to widescreen without cropping the crap out of it. Smile

Weren't there 2 versions of the theme tune? One in mono and one in stereo, the latter having more life in it.

Good to see it mentioned at the CBBC event in Liverpool.

Weirdly I always thought it was Barry from the Chuckle Brothers who 'played' Mr Blobby but it was in fact another Barry, Barry Killerby instead (I think the confusion in my head came from the fact that the extra Barry also had a part in ChuckleVision!)

I don’t know if it’s because it was unexpected so nothing was pre-prepared, or the fact it’s a Sunday in August, but on both the BBC national and local news they’ve run with the same vox pops and interviews when reporting this story. ITV did the same as well.

Notable on the BBC as the National has treat it as the ‘and finally’ and the local as the top story, so the same report practically aired twice back to back.

This video seems to give the full details of the various title sequences over the years:

And let's not forget this tribute!

Another sad loss from childhood (I don't like this getting older lark), a brilliant comic actor on stage and screen. I've been lucky to see a few of their shows and panto performances where jokes were sometimes a little more risky but still very entertaining for the family.

RIP Barry, Thank you for many years of chuckles.

The episode I seem to remember more than any other for some reason is the one where they set up a hotel, with one room (with a stupidly high number), where they have the bath sunken into the floor and the guest gets covered in oil. I'm sure a pre-fame David Walliams was in that one (or someone who looked like him), would have been around 1996.

I can't help noticing how much the instrumental version sounds the Going Live theme, or maybe an underscore bed version of it. Strange, as Chucklevision was first shown as part of "Saturday Starts Here", that weird bit of CBBC continuity that wasn't done by Presentation, but by the Going Live team from around TV Centre.
