Is Banzai any good some people have told me its excellent others said they didn't get it & a few said it was rubbish. I would like to know to see if it is worth watching or not
I really loved Banzai - it's a very weird show though.
My favourite bit was when Mr Shake Hands Man - who has to keep shaking celebrity hands for as long as possible (because he's Japanese and 'that's what they do').
He had Donna Air there for about 5 mins - hysterical!
Then there's squirrel-fishing, knights jousting in a shopping trolley, Go West Egg Roulette. It's all very, very strange......
Its a great programme! Even better when betting became available on E4 (SkyDigital) as it encourages you to wacth! Its just really funny.
I presume Channel 4 will have all the interactive gubbins on digital? If not then its a bit of a step back, it does allow analogue viewers to see it I suppose! Its just not as fun without the betting IMHO!
Don't remember being able to bet on it...not apart from with my mates in the room saying 'I'll bet Donna Air is really thick' - no-one would bet against that one!
Yes, it's Bert Kwouk, a classic voiceover on a top show!
I just love the Japanese graphics and cheesy voice overs. I thoutht the 'Wheel Of Misfortune' last night was just totally bonkers, TV to let your hair down to!
The critics have slammed this but then, they said you shouldn't watch it sober - so if they took their own advice.....!
Its actually a home grown product, but the look of the show makes it look like a Japanese import. I noticed the interactive element wasn't working during the Channel 4 broadcast, which kind of devalues the purpose of the show a little.
When broadcast for the first time on E4, through a digital receiver, you get the chance to bet for fun using the remote control, and your score is totalled for you.
