There was one a few years ago which depicted this really graphic kids nativity play. I know it got loads of complaints, but I don't know whether it was banned or not.
And, while not banned, the Schnappes advert with those puppets ("Beware the Jabberman, my dear!" or something) was confined to the evenings after a few months, as people felt it might scare children.
One of the first ads to be banned (of sorts) I remember was a Nutralia shampoo ad that had a few frames of an exposed nipple in shot. There were over 100 complaints so the ad was pulled and had to be re-edited.
The C4 programme mentioned earlier in the thread was called "X-Rated: The Ads They Tried To Ban", shown last April and featured lots of TV commercials that were produced but never showed on screen.

well it may surprise you that in this age of enlightenment in the 21st century some people still can't cope with the fact that underneath all our clothes there are NAKED BODIES
we must do all we can to protect the innocent minds of children from adverts that show women showering naked and exposed nipples
but we can let them watch lord of the rings on video after a hard day at nursery
going along the lines of nudity and children I remember an ad year ago that got banned for showing a child bathing and you saw his bottom
(OH MY GOSH CHILDREN HAVE BOTTOMS!! )
can't remember what the ad was for but the music was 'will you still love me tomorrow'
Judderman from Metz advertising (2001)
Advert
There aren't that many truly sinister ads gracing our TV screens, but the ad for Metz alcopop could well be the spookiest ever shown. Featuring a pointy-nosed fairy-tale figure inspired by the child catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, the Judderman was played by a Czech ballet dancer. Yet somehow this eastern bloc Wayne Sleep still managed to be spine-tinglingly creepy. With its nursery-rhyme music and puppet-like jerky movements, this hideous creature was meant to symbolise the 'judder' that drinking Metz gave you.
I used to love the metz, beware of the judderman adverts, whatever happened to metz anywhere haven't seen it anywhere in years?
I know French Connection had a couple of adverts banned, in particuliar the fcukinkybugger promotion that was only allowed to be shown in cinema's in the end,
I think a lot of companies do it on purpose, if all the newspapers are saying blah blah advert banned and banging on about it for weeks it certainly has been good advertising!
