Bit like what someone said about C4 racing showing a c4 racing continues shortly with ads above/left.
Something different for uktv keeps us interested a bit more. Seen it happen with German tv when watching f1 abroad
Tweets for The Bank Job appearing below the adverts.

Channel 4 are running tweets/facebook messages along the bottom of the screen during the last ad break in The Bank Job. It's nice to see Channel 4 doing interesting things with their breaks. As well as the screen shrinking on Channel 4 Racing that I mentioned earlier in the thread, they also had a competition on Christmas day, you had to count the number of times the word 'sale' was said during an ad break (I only counted two) and then enter online. They couldn't announce a winner on air due to 'technical problems' though.

I don't know what is happening on The Bank Job tonight. When the first game started, George Lamb didn't seem to have the questions ready (he reads them off of a tablet, so it may not have been his fault). They had to stop the game and start again after 5 seconds or so.
Just now, he was doing a piece to camera and stopped to ask for the autocue to be moved down a bit. Not sure why, it was a standard read that he does every night in to the 'meet the contestants' VT. I'm sure a more experienced presenter could have winged it.
EDIT : George Lamb just accepted an incorrect answer as correct (the contestant said "Miranda Kerr" when the correct answer was "Miranda Hart"). They had to stop and wind the clock back a bit again. There have also been a few dodgy camera shots tonight. This has been such a slick production for the past two nights, I wonder what has happened this evening.
EDIT: George Lamb's tablet device just failed and he swapped it for another one (they had to wind the clock back again too). They are lucky that the contestants are so talkative tonight. They are doing a better job of filling than Lamb is.

On 4HD the bank job ticker was going throughout the last ad break, it surprises me that this graphic is seemingly put on by the playout centre rather than the studio gallery.
It is a shocking programme. What's the point of all the random movement of those stupid flight cases, couldn't they just have a digital counter ?

It probably has to be done that way due to the regional nature of Channel 4's adverts. Did the screen go black and the sound cut out during the last ad break for you?
It just makes the programme more interesting. The game could be played in a much smaller studio with all the money moving being done on a computer screen instead of with real money in drawers and cases, but it wouldn't be half as good.

I agree, and apart from the technical problems tonight, on a whole the show has been very good. Just out of curiosity, has anyone played online?

Yes. There are actually two games to play online. One is available 24/7 and is the same as the final round in the TV show, you play against a real human being. The other is available during the last ad break in the TV show and involves answering as many questions as you can in 45 seconds (the same questions that will be on the TV show after the break) and then selecting a drawer for each one you get correct.
The first one is better but they are both implemented quite well. The only information required for the play-along game is a name, which makes a nice change from registration forms that require your whole life history.

Someone should probably be fired after tonights shambles of an episode. A shame really as although there do seem to be some flaws to iron out it's not too bad a show and managed to hold it's audience from episode 1 to 2 - so hopefully tonight doesn't see viewers switch off as at around 1.3m it's probably 50/50 for a recommission - but I would say it's worth bringing back as long as they iron out the potential problems for it's return.

Just a word in Lamb's defence: this must be a nightmarish gig for even the most experienced presenter to pull off live. It's a fast-moving game with fairly complex rules that are different in every round, and there's a whole load of eventualities that can start to emerge towards the end. A simple format it ain't.
It was clear last night that Lamb was simultaneously trying to grapple with the rules, do some mental arithmetic and pull off a bit of backchat with the contestant, with the director blaring in his ear the whole time, but he managed it all with remarkable composure.
All things considered, I think he's done very well indeed.

Is anyone else now wishing it had been hosted by Shaun Williamson? Now that would be great TV.

Couldn't the gallery feed it with a green or blue box for the adverts to be CSO'd into?
