When the 'Star Baker' stands on a bridge and phones their family at the end of the episode (and therefore at the end of filming) its late afternoon. If it was all done on the same day it would be filmed either at dusk or when it's dark
Why would there need to be enough light? They've filmed before when its pouring with rain outside. Surely there's lighting in the tent required to illuminate things?

In an interview with last year's winner, David Atherton, he mentioned that in the later stages he'd been so busy with his job that Henry Bird (who had been eliminated by that stage) helped him out by doing some test bakes during the week, giving him feedback to allow him to fine-tune.

The refreshing thing though is how producers are keen for contestants to shine, hence the practice, rather than building them up for failure.

The C4 show is made on location near Newbury, the US version is now made on the back lot of one of the film studios (Pinewood or Shepperton) I believe. There was a point where both the US Bake Off and the UK Junior Bake Off were shooting simultaneously.

I met Paul Jagger who created the lion bread at an event in Manchester and he mentioned that the Christmas special he appeared in the other year was filmed in a studio but dressed up to make it look like it was filmed in its usual location.

Yes, a brilliant choice. I haven't thought that Noel and Sandi's links have been that good, they just haven't been funny. Going by that clip I think they'll be much improved
