I don't recall seeing seeing a hand gesture but his face defiantly had a "what the f*ck?" look though. - as did most of the other soaps cast. Idiots.
Some surprising results - some good some bad.
I'm glad 'The Choir' won over 'The Apprentice' same with 'The Street'. Liz Smith should have won best comedy performance though.
Did Anthony Cotton really do a "thumb downs wa***rs thing with his arm when Casualty won the BAFTA? "
Found that on Ds...
You are getting ready to do one of those stories like you do after every awards show aren't you
"Corrie stars stormed out of the awards and shunned the aftershow party, the Daily Star can exclusively reveal. A source said that Corrie stars were very angry at not winning the best soap award"
Corrie were totally miffed and most of the audience in general looked bored to be honest. It seems also that many stars are either "too busy" or can't be bothered to turn up to these award shows which is a shame.
Great speeches from Andy Harries and Richard Curtis.
Norton also seemed to improve throughout the evening with his quips at the autocue but I don't know if somebody else may have been suitable for the "highbrow" Bafta. Or maybe I'm just fed up with Graham Norton appearing on nearly every BBC entertainment show at the moment.
The winners this evening are truly weird,I fully expected Corrie to walk away with the bafta like everyone else did
Really? I didn't? I actually thought Emmerdale would get it - they've had a good year. Corrie on the whole had a weak 2006, as did EastEnders so I'm glad neither of them got it because it may convince TPTB to try a wee bit harder.
I suppose the Beeb can no longer be accused of not taking advantage of Graham Norton's fat exclusivity contract anymore, like they were when they first poached him. Is it up for renewal soon?

I think he only just renewed it with them last year.
The best bit for me was when Stephen Merchant was called up to collect Ricky Gervais's award when he had been nominated in the same category! He clearly didn't know that Ricky had sugested that Stephen could collect his award on his behalf! Very very funny!
I reckon Mr. Gervais was enjoying that moment very much!

Found it on Youtube no ****ers sign but definaltly a bitter bitter face
It was discussed on "Breakfast" this morning that the Juries
might
probably
have gone for the compromise - i.e. 9 jurors couldn't agree between top two programmes and gone for the third/fourth one.
It might explain why there were a lot of unexpected winners.
WTF - how on earth did Granada Reports win the news award over the national BBC, ITV and C4 bulletins.
Where I live I can get six regional news programmes (BBC/ITV Midlands, Wales, North West) - and I'd probably rank Granada Reports as the worst! Yep - even worse than Midlands Today!

It wasn't Granada Reports per se that won, the award was for a particular report within the programme. Anyway I'm uncomfortable about tragic events being used as the basis of programme awards. At least the team's acceptance speech acknowledged that discomfort.
Surely ITV can't take the credit for the Hungarian Grand Prix race coverage, as that was a world feed produced by a host broadcaster (RTL I think)? And as for James Allen, well the less said the better...
