Anyone else experiencing bad sound problems on the BAFTAs at the moment?

I'm trying to work out whether the problem lies with the mic Jonathon Ross is using or if it's just Jonathon Ross. Razz

Yeah, there seemed to be feedback from the stage mic and his radio mic. I think its been rectified.

Yes there are sound problems. Although it seems to be fixed now - but it went on for quite a long time!

There'll just be a quick "Sorry about the sound problems at the beginning hope this didn't effect your enjoyment too much, the awards continue after the Ten O'Clock News.." Or something like that.

Jonathon Ross has just mentioned the sound problems, so I'm guessing tonight's show may be on a slight time delay if only now mentioned.

I think it was all done and dusted before it even went on air. The red carpet was on Sky and News 24 around 5-6pm, so I'd guess the awards started around 7pm. A full list of winners was available on bbc.co.uk at 9pm.

Why can't we have anything "live" in this country any more - even the prudish Americans operate with just a 7-second delay at events such as these.

Anyone know who's hosting the TV BAFTA's this year, and if they're on the BBC or ITV.

And why do the TV awards alternate each year while the film awards seem to remain on the BBC?

They're on ITV this year. Not sure who is hosting but it was Davina last time for them wasn't it? Fingers crossed she doesn't get the gig again. Rolling Eyes

BAFTA let the results slip on their website at around 6.30pm, they are being very sloppy about it, no request for an embargo either.

I don't think it's anything to do with potential offence. IIRC the the event itself lasts too long so they edit out the interval and other bits that are of no consequence to those of us at home

Spot on - I believe it falls under the banner of a "Other Awards Won Tonight" section - including things like makeup, hair, cinematography, use of animals, token American interest award, best use of a joke involving a bodily function, best product placement, best sex scene, best gay sex scene, best interracial sex scene...oh wait that's the AVNs...silly me...
