We can barely watch anything on analogue. And my sister is watching the Rugrats on Nickelodeon, so we're stuck.

I got severe ghosting of ITV1 Meridian over the top of BBC ONE South earlier (which didn't do much for Huw's hair-do!).
BBC ONE London .. no problems. I'm receiving Meridian on Ch 58 and BBC ONE on .. 26 - apparently! I don't think that's right!

yep - it's still bad here - wavy lines everywhere and no channel 5 (we're not missing much then!) last week we even got some of South East Today's sound over Jules doing the cameras on LDN

ps - anyone else think Breakfast's tree should be moved behind the presenters instead of the silly wreath thing

Yeah, here its bad too, my sky output channel that goes to the tvs upstairs is unwatchable with thick horizontal wavy lines over it.
Also, Carlton/LWT has thinner horizontal lines, and im picking up weird signals allover the place.
Anglia Weather mentioned the atmosperic conditions too this lunchtime.
The grampian man hadn't a scooby about it. He sort of stuttered it out about atmospheric pressure lol. On a static image of the ident. Which I am beginning to think does actually feature the hearts in the background!
The easiest way to do a bit of DXing is with your radio. Just have a look round the frequencies. Today I've picked up allsorts including Lincs FM, Jazz FM, Trax FM, Capital, Chilthern and Fusion here in the Midlands.
Someone at Lincs FM was telling me that he was receiving calls from Milton Keynes and Cheltenham that were picking up Lincs FM. So enjoy it whilst it lasts.

Its all to do with the high pressure system sitting over the UK at the moment. The high pressure causes an effect called 'fading'.
If you live on the fringe of an analogue transmitters patch, then high pressure causes the radiated power to fade as the signal gets weaker.
Theres nothing the broadcasters can do - as under normal conditions the transmitter power is just fine.
During the summer you also get a thing called 'co-channel' interference... you start to see shadows of other services on nearby frequencies.
The answer... is digital - not affected in the same way as analogue.
I've been wondering about this as analogue quality in my house has been poor since Saturday morning, I thought it was our aerials as they always used to play up. We watch didgital a lot more so it hasn't caused any problems except when u wanna watch a different channel on terrestrial in another room. I live in an overlap region in Fleet, Hampshire. We've got one aerial pointing towards Meridian South Hannington Transmitter and the other one pointing to Carlton/LWT can't remember transmitter name. All channels have been getting interference by other channels regions I can't normally see atall. Even are video channel is affected and SKY Digital would like ****
if we didn't have a scart connection as it sits on C50 where a Channel 4 out of region is but sometimes affects it. I also have been picking up HTV WEST, we are no where near it and the picture isn't to bad, u can make out what it is, it's wierd I'm gennerally picking up more transmitters or regions but pictures on my normal regions channels are bad, they arn't great anyway especially ITV, thankgod Sky Digital now has ITV otherwise I'd be stuffed!
