A new series of Bad Lad's Army starts next week on ITV1.

One let down for this new 3rd series is that there is a new Corporal replacing Corporal Nauyokas.

Anybody looking forward to this new series, and which series did you prefer, last years, or the original Lad's Army?

As long as the Scottish bloke's still there - it should be as good as it was last series.

I fear Bad Lads Army without Corporal Nauyokas will be like Big Brother without Big Brother!

Similar theme, but has anyone been watching Escape to the Legion on Monday nights on C4. Brilliant programme - and I'm sure I wasn't the only one smiling when host Bear got buried in the sand!

The original was by far the best. They were just normal lads, not criminals, so it was more interesting IMO. Also, I'm sure the original series was way longer. I found series 2 quite disappointing TBH.

I remember the forerunner to Lad's Army - an American one-off series called 'Boot Camp' which aired on Sky One in 2001 (and from a pres point of view, one of the plethora of endcaps on the programme was some arm of Granada which used the pre-hearts Granada TV ident for an endcap animation). That was a brilliant series. The original Lad's Army was also great viewing, just taking ordinary people off the street, but of course last year's 'Bad Lads' instalment wasn't a patch on the original.

There was a time when I thought Trisha's departure from ITV would herald an end to ITVchav...then they introduce The Jeremy Kyle Show, feature chavscum and reaching new heights of chavdom which would surely make even Ms Goddard cringe, and now they are going for a second year with 'Bad Lads' in Lads Army.

Oh well, I'll give it a look. I wonder if it'll degenerate year on year as per Big Brother?

Great show. I'm pleased its returning. I like the way the Captain acts so sincere and calm then snaps if someone bothers him.

"Why am I unhappy with you Hawkins..? Do you know why I have called you here to see me? You've been a very silly boy haven't you?"

It's Rubbish because it's on the same time as Extras And Tate Show

I wouldn't worry as it's repeated at 9pm on Sunday on ITV2 with the "Privates Exposed" show aswell.

Can someone please tell me why they have added "officer class" to the title, as it seems pointless. Are they aiming for longer titles every year, 'Lads Army' then 'Bad Lads Army' and now 'Bad Lads army: officer class' Rolling Eyes

Yes I agree, due to the fact that the 1st series was normal lads, they were more likeable characters plus due to them having more than 2 braincells they had a better line in banter.

We'll have to see what this years lot are like

Glad to see Bad Lads is back, as it was one of my favourites. Looking good so far.

I loved how that lad was cocky, then he saw the sergant and ****ed himself. Very Happy He was crying.

It would be very hard to beat series 1 though. It was class.

Most of the officers seem to be new to this series so far. Only Corporal Murray and the Sergeant are from last series. Is that posh bloke who was the top rank in this series? How about that old bloke who did the 'left-right-left-right' bit last time?
