As far as "good" commericals go, definitely one of the more catchy adverts this year is for the new Golf GTI - upon first viewing it seemed quite bizarre!

I have a few irrational hates when it comes to adverts.

They've been running for a few years now, but Mazda's ads irritate the hell out of me. It's just the utterly inane 'Zoom Zoom Zoom' song which has me switching channels in an instant.

The Actimel ads really annoy me as well. If I wanted to run around like a wacky tw*t, jump in puddles, and rollerskate everywhere, I'd take speed. The 'Ta na na na' music also has the same effect as Mazda's music on me.

Oh, and whilst on the subject of nasty sounding yoghurt drinks, aren't the Yakult ads terrible as well?

"Bacteria!"
"F**k off!".

And the woman on the settee on the right in the current one with 'Tarquin' looks a bit like a young Natasha Kaplinsky which puts me off as well.

Also i'd like to ad the Cillit Bang advert to the list, they keep advertising it but i've never seen it around in the stores!.

Cillit Bang is available in Boston's Wise Owl Discount Store at £1.99 a bottle!

Ooh, I'd snap it up love! It's a quid dearer in my local Morrisons.

The Cillit Bang advert is more effective than you think. When looking for that Cillit Bang re-mix i posted, i actually found a few Cillit Bang fan websites. Including a shrine to BARRY SCOTT Laughing

Sweety and Fluffy's "Little Birds Rock"? There's another one? Confused

The adverts that I hate with a passion are the ones for any sort of crap on your cellphone. Ringtones, wallpapers, games etc. Ugh.

Other ones I can't stand are the ones where they use the instrumentals from a well known pop song and repeat the advert to death on nearly every commercial channel - ala Homebase, the new crop of Lloyds TSB and Yes car credit ones. Does my head in. Evil or Very Mad

...and why are Homebase using an instrumental that quite clearly goes "D! F! S!"?

Heh heh heh, that's ruined that one.

I'd bet you anything you anything Natasha Bedingfield has a DFS sofa!!
Anyhoo, I still can't understand why Currys still use Linda Barker in their ads. And changing the slogan to "Always LOWERING Prices" isn't going to fool anyone! (snip snip!!)
And there's something about the new B&Q advert with the dancing wellies that seriously freaks me out!!
I don't like the WHSmith worms either. Okay 'Book Worm' works, but WTF is a 'DVD Worm'??

yellow.

You mean Howard Brown? Aaarrgghh! He actually released a single you know, from one of those ads? "My first, my last, my extra thing". Barry White is spinning in his grave.

I think that's the point fool.

Of course if you asked Simon and his speech impediment he'd tell you that card worm is his favourite as he's covered in stamps.
