Back to School

Is there any chance these adverts could not be shown now,but later on in the holidays? We still have a few weeks left,so why can't we just forget about school for a while?

Because us Scots go back tomorrow.

I go back 2morrow to start s5.great.

At a random guess... the adverts are aimed at the parents who have only got a few weeks left to get Little Jonny's uniform, pencil case, school satchel, and Crazy Frog inflatable blimp*.


* The last item probably isn't on sale. Yet.

I broke up on the 22nd July.

Exactly how I felt when I was at school; and I sympathise with anyone at school who agrees. For one reason or another, school isn't the happiest days of some people's lives and it doesn't help to have their noses rubbed in it during the summer break.

Besides, those who need to already know about school items - ice and eskimos...

In defense of the broadcasters, summer is a really quiet time ad-wise, and if they didn't have these kind of ads, we might be seeing a part-time network over the holidays.

Now that would be great ...and it might do something about childhood obesity rates.
