Baby TV

Now showing on Telewest Broadband channel 703 is Baby TV. With a notice saying this channel launches on Sept 12th.

Anyone know anything about this?

Its been on NTL for quite some time, I think you have to pay for it as an extra channel, although there was a time where you didn't have to. It was very weird, makes great viewing if you've come back sloshed from a pub or club though.

When I saw it, most of the stuff appeared to have been dubbed (badly) from a foreign language.

From what I've heard, it's a channel for the kiddywinks before they reach the age of the likes of Cbeebies and Nick Jnr. That's right, put them in front of a tv as soon as they are born!

It's done grounds in America so they are trying their luck here.

I bet there clam there no link between that channel and overweight kids

What a Stupid TV channel, who ever made this up should get SHOT!!

There nothing wrong with Kids tv maybe once, twice day but really there should be outside running, swimming and beening active, not sitting in front of the bloody telly all day watching even worse crap than what’s on ITV!

From my very limited experience of watching it (before, oddly, NTL decided it was so important you had to pay extra) it was very strange - ambient music, very weird graphics. I can see what they're trying to do - lullaby-esque stuff to get the kids to sleep - but I suspect the kind of viewers dandan refers to (or those on worse substances) would appreciate it most.

I quite agree, all kids what to do with their free time is watch tv or play on their playstation, no wonder they don't learn how to interact with other people.

People often get confused between 'Baby TV' and the 'The Baby Channel':

- Baby TV - a channel for babies to watch (on NTL and soon on Telewest - but not on Sky)
- Baby Channel - a channel about babies and baby care (on Sky, Homechoice and Telewest Teleport - but not on NTL)

There is also a third baby related channel listed on the Ofcom site called 'Baby First TV' which should confuse the situation further if it launches....
