am I alone in this world in thinking that perhaps primetime monday evening telly has sunk to an all new artistic and intellectual low by featuring the artificial plight of several teams of bat fastards?

I wonder what happened to cause this programme to appear on ITV. It didn't do THAT well on Living did it?

It's been on ITV before - 5pm slot ( last year I think) - had Kate Garraway as host.

Then that is even stranger. Why does it keep getting promoted. I assume the next series will be shown at prime time Saturday night on BBC One.

It's been a hit in primetime in quite a few other countries I hear, so must of done reasonlly well for them to risk relauching it in primetime. So not supposed there've gave it the best weekday slot - if it does well, it'll get them another format that's isn't the usual say crime/detective drama's.

It isn't as bad Jeremey Kyle type show, as some make it out to be tbh. I caught a few of the 5pm ep's I said about and found it ok.

I personally find most of ITV's output is desperate at this time of year... they've competition with Channel 4 this year which seems to be hit and miss without Celeb BB pumping the schedules.

I guess it shows how much Simon Cowell has moulded himself into the ITV framework.

Did you miss Celebrity Detox? People giving themselves enemas on TV?

I saw some of the programme tonight and it certainly wasn't the worst format or programme ever. It didn't look that dissimilar to Celebrity Fit (Fat) Camp from a few years ago

It should have been kept at 5pm. Stv should have opt out of this, if itv are drespret for decent shows then lets have gameshows back

Oh shurrup. You'll be asking for Strike it Lucky next. There's few apart from you who want gameshows back in primetime - the clue is there; they're out of fashion.

And whilst I'm not trying to be a contrary Mary, I watched Biggest Loser last night - one of the few ITV shows I've watched in donkeys years. It's a MASSIVE hit in the US and Australia, so putting it in the evening makes sense. How many eyeballs are there to watch it at 5pm? Real people work for a living, Mr 623058.

You'll also have noticed the swathes of diet and slimming commercials that ran in each break - surely a bit of an uptapped market for ITV?

The format has changed from the version Living carried - it now follows the structure the US one does, and is a much easier watch. Originally they didn't necessarily have a "weigh in" or an elimination each episode - and for the viewer that's the whole point.

Thought Davina did a capable job. Certainly has enough charm and empathy, which the host needs to have to counterbalance the aggressive trainers who coral the fatties to get on the exercise bikes.

Not sure why people would be surprised to see a show like this take a big slot in the schedule. Its no different to a Hell's Kitchen or a Top Model - both of which are worldwide hits.

All things considered I quite enjoyed it.

I know that but its been 10 years now and I believe there come back in to fashion like everything else, telents show come back,

But many people have Itv player, BT vison etc, so people can still catch it.

Yes its untapped market,

I have seen the Living version and I though it was utter crap, but since you said there made changes I will have to give it a watch, and see.

Most people can see this being on CH4 or FIVE, not on itv, times are changing
