Perhaps the most bizare thing I have ever seen on a TV screen - an AVG 8 logo just appeared on Five in the middle of the football, going upwards, then faded out. Clear as day, I was not hallucinating.

If anyone taped the football tonight, get a load of the 83rd minute, and you'll see it.

Set your recorders for 3:30am onwards on Sunday night/monday morning, as that's when the full match repeat is on. I am so hoping it will be burned onto the transmission and was not just a live mistake.

I could hardly believe it to be honest. And no, I haven't been drinking.

No you're not making it up. The score graphic vanished too.
Initially I thought it was one of those graphics that show an off-side flag being waved around by somebody (since they're common on the BBC coverage) but then you remember, Five graphics are really horrible and huge and you can read them from the next town, so why have little wavey flags?
Interesting occurrence, so the DOG generator's running AVG eh? Wink

Does anybody use Demand Five? Does it show catch-up sport like the iPlayer? If it's been burnt onto the recording and the sport's on Demand Five, it should be there if it's an off-air recording.

As usual, Friendly TV (pre-soft porn days) are years ahead of any other channel...

Well done Friendly TV.

I also remember a "Windows has detected a change to Daylight Saving Time" pop up on Friendly TV.

It was a great channel to watch in the early days... especially when Charlie Brooker encouraged his Guardian readers to text in with very complex philosophical questions one morning.

guess we all use the same software to run our computers

just sometime it accidentally gets transmitted Confused

maybe the antivirus stops them missing goals during comercial breaks

Haha, it was ironic that this happened on last night's match, because Five's trailer for the match cheekily said "other broadcasters might cut to a commercial break here!" over footage of a goal. D'oh!

deer god that's awful.

at least this sort of thing doesn't happen to proper broadcasters

There was one of those late night texi-in channels overseas who had to restart the computer live - it was on Youtube but it seems like it's been removed.
