I guess there's an argument that it's not the best time to be pre-recording during a live OB programme, given how that kind of programme is the most likely to fall of air.

What was interesting was that London seemed to give enough of a countdown into Coast for Tony to introduce it with a symbol, I imagined that they would just hit play as soon as their announcer had introduced it now you don't need to wait for tapes to get up to speed.

Interesting to see that the episode of Coast made it into the online programmes guide - and so possibly the EPG too. I wonder how PVR recordings coped?

The iPlayer recording has had the entire breakdown taken out and the programme spit into two. Normally when a live programme falls off the air like this the entire charade is available to view on the iPlayer, but I can only presume because of what happened with the network feed, it was possibly feeding the Daily Mail to leave it in...

Somebody wrote on the Points of View messageboard that Coast did appear on the EPG and the second part of the Autumnwatch programme probably didn't record for most:

Just brilliant...because the BBC altered the EPG sky didn't record the twenty minutes when they came back..

Also interesting that the Scottish breakdown caption and music was something that was cut to, mid flow, so I assume it's playing permanently (ish) on tap ?

Just point out The windows of the world idents have not been axed. just pushed aside. Mind you the rest of the package is still in full force like promos/.
They're not used any more. At all. And I did only say it was the idents, not the whole package.

Signed programmes don't use traditional 'idents', they use a slide with the title of the programme on.

Although it wasn't network's finest hour, don't forget they're tasked with also getting the programme back on air as well as filling the gap. The nations don't have that unenviable task.

BBC 2 Scotland did extremely well compared to the network. I'm quite surprised considering BBC Scotland don't normally bother with BBC 2.

They do. BBC2 Scotland has a different programme instead of Newsnight which is then timeshifted, that's hardly not bothering.

Has that continued now then post-referendum?

Possibly done that way to make life easier if a local programme goes down - one less thing for the announcer/director to worry about.

Yep, still with the most colourful news set ever.

Are you sure? I know Scotland 2014 is meant to end in November.
