Thanks for that square eyes, do you have any idea when they are going to start showing these movies, at present all movies on a wednesday are all repeats, this is the ideal time to pull the ratings in, september is a great month for itv1, i look forward to these great movies, i know i'll be watching them all.

Really? All of them showing this autumn?

Thats a good line up of films for itv1. Plus itv2 have had a good few films, they may not be premieres but they've been good.

The only thing that would make itv if itv did like sky movies do, where as they show movies without adverts and have like 6 minutes worth either side. To split the adverts they could have news headlines in the middle, a few itv1 promos and more ads. And for itv1 to show films on terrestrial in full 16:9 bars like many others do, rather than the 14:9 they currently show films in.

I expect quite a few of them will be around christmas.

I have a source at itv network centre and according to him, all of these movie premiers are meant to be showing between september and the beginning of december, no mention of these films being on at christmas.

Wow. Does that mean that we are going to get old films over christmas then? A time when many people have a break!

ITV never put out their big movie premieres over the Christmas period due to lower advertising revenues.

The BBC have blown £10m on acquiring the rights to the first Harry Potter film for Christmas. Don't even get me started on that one, but £10m on one 3 hour film. I defy anyone to tell me that the taxpayer is getting good value for that one.

Don't quote me on this one, but my source at the network centre told me that if bbc1 do have harry potter this christmas day, itv1 might rival the movie with star wars episode1: the phantom menace, i know it's been on before, but only once, it was premiered last autumn, i think it quite a good film, and if i had a choice i'd rather watch that than harry bloody potter, i think itv1 should have prmeiered star wars last christmas to rival chicken run, i think that was on bbc1 last christmas day.

Why are there lower advertising revenues?

I'd like to think that itv could put on some entertainment, whether its des o conner tonight, or a new generation game type show, but something different.

Surely everyone that wants to watch harry potter will have seen it by now. And all the fans will have the video/DVD; though I still bet many will watch it again!

Because, everyone has spent up, all the shops are usually closed, and nobody usually wants to advertise at Christmas for some reason. Besides the fact that most people are sat around the telly !

Because once those shops shut on Christmas Eve nobody is planning on buying anything for quite a while, which means besides the likes of DFS, companies don't want to advertise. There's still some good stuff on ITV1, but the biggest stuff will be on before Xmas, the good but not really good stuff is then on at Xmas

Talking about Harry Potter, knowing BBC1 we'll end up with Harry Potter themed Xmas idents and over the top promotions. Remember last year when they trailed Chicken Run three or four times per junction!

Don't believe everything you hear. The £10m figure is for a package of films from the same distributor.
